CTBUH 50th Anniversary World Congress Dinner and “Beaux-Arts Costume Ball” on October 30, 2019 was a modern interpretation of the 1931 Beaux-Arts Ball in New York, where titans from the building industry came dressed as the buildings they had created. Images and videos of the 1931 “Beaux-Arts Costume Ball” held 88 years ago are included below. 1931 costumed guests included: A. Stewart Walker as the Fuller Building (1929), Leonard Schultze as the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel (1931) , Ely Jacques Kahn as the Squibb Building (1930), William Van Alen as the Chrysler Building (1930), Ralph Walker as 1 Wall Street (1931), D.E.Ward as Metropolitan Tower and Joseph H. Freelander as Museum of the City of New York (1930).
